The violation orders are split into major and minor violations. Examples of these can be found below,
As a rule, when three minor violations are accumulated disciplinary action will be taken. If two major violations are accumulated, disciplinary action will be taken.
Examples of minor violations:
· Failure to maintain a reasonable level of care during service.
· Failure to carry out basic household taks – cleaning worksips, making/changing bed sheets, washing up, laundry tasks, emptying commodes, pad and catheter bag disposal.
· Failure to change clients clothes.
· Failure to report complete consumption of medication in order medications to be ordered.
· Failure to login to the PassSystem during calls – unless you are experiencing technical diffiulties, in which case you must inform the office ASAP.
· Using blue ink to complete customer file documentation
· Late responses to management – Respond to communications in the mode it was received e.g. respond to an email, via email and a text, via text.
Examples of major violations:
· Any client falls, bumps to the head or broken bones caused by negligent care.
· Food poisoning of a client – ensure all food is propertly cooked according to package instructions and piping hot. Never serve food which is out of date.
· Medication errors – missed medication, over-dosing or under-dosing. Any problems with medication must be reported to the office and a thorough account to be made on PassSystem app.
· Security breaches – leaving doors unlocked, keys left in doors or exposed key codes.
· Refusal to follow instructions of management
· Being under the influence of alcohol or drugs at work
· Non-attendence to team meetings
· Late submissions of online training
Performance Reviews
Any violations will be put on your record, that we hold on the Pass System in order to keep track.
Major violations that constitute gross misconduct could face instant dismissal.
Where a member of staff fails to improve after being notified of the violations, a performance review will be held. Improvement objectives will be set within a 30-day timeframe.
If there is improvement, no further action will be required.
If there is no
improvement
and the reasons given for failure to improve are
unsatisfactory, we will have to terminate
your employment. The
member of staff will be served notice of termination in accordance to your
contract.
In Accordance with Violation Orders
The introduction of these violation orders does not permit members of staff to contact other members of staff directly to tell them they are not doing their job properly. This is innappropriate and you will be in breach of these violation orders.
All violations must be reported to the office with evidence. All violations will be investigated and appropriate action taken.
